Bridgend Woods
Islay House is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bridgend Woods, some of the most beautiful woodland in Britain.
There are a number of fine walks through the Bridgend Woods, including a gentle walk to the Islay Woolen Mill or a relaxing stroll along the banks of the River Sorn. The walks on offer in the Bridgend Woods are not only beautiful, but also relaxing and reassuringly suitable for children of all ages.
The woods are home to a variety of bird species, as well as a large number of wild deer.

Whatever the season the Bridgend Woods always have an attraction, from Daffodils in the spring and Bluebells in the summer, to a carpet of Snowdrops at the end of winter. Then there is always the annual Salmon run on the River Sorn to look forward to.
Whether you follow the well trodden paths or explore of your own accord, the Bridgend Woods have a unique charm of their own.
